About FlashCardify

Built by an AI researcher who got tired of forgetting everything he studied.

I built FlashCardify because I had a problem: I was reading constantly (papers, textbooks, online courses) but retaining almost none of it. The science was clear (the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve had been documented since 1885), but the tools available either required too much manual work or didn't adapt to how I actually studied.

As an AI researcher, I had the background to build something better. FlashCardify uses large language models to extract key concepts from any source (text, PDFs, YouTube videos, images, and audio) and schedules reviews using spaced repetition so you study the right card at the right time.

My background is in machine learning and NLP. During my Master's at Koç University I worked on multimodal AI (combining vision and language), which directly informs how FlashCardify handles images and structured content. My PhD research at Wageningen University focuses on adaptive AI systems, and that same principle of personalization runs through FlashCardify's spaced repetition engine.

The Mission

Make the science of memory accessible to everyone. Spaced repetition has been proven across hundreds of studies to improve long-term retention by 50-60% compared to cramming, but most people have never heard of it, let alone used a tool that implements it properly.

FlashCardify removes the friction: you don't have to write your own cards, manage your own schedule, or understand the algorithm. You just provide the content: a lecture recording, a chapter photo, a YouTube video. The app does the rest.

How It Works

AI Generation

Large language models extract key concepts and generate question-answer pairs from any content type.

Spaced Repetition

Reviews are scheduled based on the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve. Each successful recall extends the next interval.

Multimodal Input

Text, PDF, YouTube, images (OCR), and audio (transcription) are all supported sources.

Personalization

Difficulty, language, card length, and review frequency adapt to your preferences and performance.
